How long does therapy last?

Sessions last for fifty minutes each week. I offer open-ended therapy but we can discuss a fixed number of sessions if you prefer. We will discuss how counselling is helping and review our work on a regular basis.

Is counselling confidential?

All sessions are conducted in strictest confidence.

Confidentiality may only be broken in the following circumstances:

  • Where you give consent to break confidentiality.

  • Where there is serious risk of harm to you or others.

  • Where I am required by law.

The practice is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.

All client data is managed in accordance with GDPR legislation.

Where do you see clients?

We meet face-to-face at The Well, 89 Institute Road, Kings Heath, Birmingham, B14 7EU. We've worked hard to make the practice covid secure. Screens are in place in all public areas, we sit more than two meters apart and the room is ventilated and thoroughly cleaned between sessions. We ask that you come alone where possible and wear face coverings when visiting the practice In certain circumstances I am able to offer home visits in the Kings Heath and Moseley area.

What does therapy cost?

Individual sessions are charged at £40 for daytime appointments and £50 after 6pm and at weekends. I sometimes have availability to offer appointments at a reduced rate - please contact me to discuss this.

How do I pay for therapy?

You will be issued with an invoice for each session. Payment can be made by card, cash or BACS transfer.

What is your professional membership?

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and practice under their Ethical and Professional Code. A copy of the BACP ethical code and complaint procedure is available online at www.bacp.co.uk.
